Doesn't matter how hard you try ...

There are always rumours flying around about what Dizzy and I are supposed to get up to, but by all accounts the new van has ruffled a few feathers with people in the breed who think we've spent the money meant for the dogs on the van! Those that know the story are perfectly aware that this money was given to us in grants and could only be spent on a vehicle but I wish these people would talk to me instead of huddling in corners gossipping about what supposedly goes on here. I'm sure if they lived this life for just one day they'd realise how difficult it can be and if they begrudge us the equipment to do the job properly (when they all have signwritten vans of their own) then maybe they're not worth a second thought.

  1. How disgusting. People can be very small minded but as my hubby says hurt and anger are wasted emotions especially on those who don't deserve them. I hope these people are thoroughly ashamed of themselves and that Tanya and Dizzy know that those of us who are so grateful for all they do support them totally and are thankful for them.

  2. How awful. Are these people offering to collect needy bulldogs at all times of the day and night, in all weathers? For that you need a reliable vehicle, specially adapted. Also it makes people in the street aware that there is a Rescue out there. The grants have paid for it and that's that! I am totally supportive of all that Bulldog Rescue does and needs.

  3. Tania, it's so sad that whatever walk of life there always seem to be those eagerly waiting to criticise and complain when someone manages to make some progress. It's particularly sad - and more than a little annoying too - when such things happen in this sort of situation.

I guess there's little any of us can do to stop some people's overactive imagination jumping to all sorts of (incorrect) conclusions, but the essential thing is you & those important to you know the facts. And just how crucial it is to have "the equipment to do the job properly". Wouldn't anything less be plain silly AND letting Bulldogs down??

  4. How narrow minded these people are.Perhaps they should come and do your job for a day then they would know how precious that van is to you and Dizzy. They should be ashamed of themselves gossiping behind your back instead of asking you up front makes me wonder if their opinions are worth worrying about at all.You and Dizzy have my full support in all that you do for our beloved bullie breed I appreciate you both and think that you do a fab job and that if you were not around then what would become of all the poor bullies that need rescuing. There got that of my chest xxxx

  5. From Ruth
It is obvious that who ever these unpleasant people are, they do not read the "Rescue Pages" because if they did they would know all about the van. No secrets, the population of the world has been reading the "Van Page" and following the story. People in Australia know the story of the van. Don't let it worry you Tania, only tiny minds who get pleasure from being nasty.

  6. If anybody has a complaint, or criticism, just refer them to the Bulldog Rescue Trustees Tania. It was OUR decision to purchase a new van and to go out and help you raise the money especially for it. You don't have to put up with this sort of small-minded behaviour. Strategic decisions like this are made by Boards of Trustees in support of the Director, not by the Director alone. If the breeders were a little more responsible, there would be no need for a Rescue!

  8. Very small minded people, people are always quick to criticise aren't they? If they spent the time offering help instead of criticising you would be pulled out with volunteers/helpers Tania.

  10. I am quite frankly astounded that anyone involved in the breed has the bare-faced cheek to criticise anything you do for the breed. Are they there to pick up the pieces when someone abuses/neglects/dumps the puppy THEY sold to an unsuitable owner?

  11. I love reading your blogs but was very disappointed to read this article about narrow minded so-called lovers of the breed critising you and the van. You all do a fantastic job and if the van makes this easier for you than no-one deserves it more than you do. Keep up the brilliant work.
